The idea for the Jazz-Makhom project was initially suggested by the Uzbek manager and musical producer Asror Isahodjaev and then developed by Andrea Romani. The central idea is to create an original melting of jazz and the Uzbek maqom tradition, bringing to life “other-ways” the Uzbek maqoms without altering their essence.This project has been developed thanks to a collaboration between Uzbek and European musicians and funded by the Embassy of France in Uzbekistan, then the same concept was extended to other central asian countries
Asror Isahodjaev
Born in 1975 in the city of Tashkent. The music producer. He graduated from the composing department of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. He studied with such teachers as Saifi Jalil and Tulkun Kurbanov .. He was one of the members of the pop group called “Tashkent”, which was popular in the 90s of the last century. From 1999 to 2010 he worked at the Tashkent Ilkhom Theater. In 2005 - 2007 he collaborated with the Omnibus ensemble. From 2003 to 2013 he taught at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan with a degree in sound engineering. Since 2007, he has been the director of the recording studio at the conservatory “Conservatory Records”. In 2004 and 2005, as a sound engineer and composer, he participated in the European competition “Sound track Cologne 2”, at the same time, by order of the German embassy, ​​he wrote music for the documentary film “Fate” which was shown at the Nuremberg Festival.
From 2004 to 2013, he worked on the board of directors at the Terra Group media company, combining the position of editor-in-chief of the Zamin FM radio channel. In 2008, he organized a festival for young performers called Mardi Maidon, the purpose of which was to discover new talents. The festival lasted until 2013.
Since 2012, in collaboration with the Turkish television channel TRT, Avaz has been organizing performances by Uzbek artists on live television channels TRT and in the Turkcevizyon festival 2013 and 2014.
In 2013, in collaboration with the Dutch choreographer Olimjon Beknazarov, he organized an international project together with Uzbek musicians and the American dance company Nomad dancers, the concert took place in the Palace of Friendship of Peoples on September 10, 2013. In 2017, he organized a performance of Uzbek pop stars Raykhon and Dj Piligrimm in the international festival Star Asia Almaty which took place in the MEDEO. Since 2015, collaborates with the popular Uzbek artist Batyr Kodirov. He organized all solo concerts of this artist since 2015, which took place in the cities of Uzbekistan, the
Russian Federation, in the city of New York. He is one of the founder and director of the radio company “Yoshlar Ovozi”.
